MapleStory Characters
Beginner:
- As a beginner, you may not have a job yet. But with much training you will soon be qualified for your 1st job advancement.
- Although the beginner are not equiped with any specials skills, there are still basic, crucial skills such as walking, jumping, sitting, climbing up the ladder, and etc. to be mastered.
- Once your character reaches level 8 / 10, you may choose to undertake any of the four job; warrior, magician, bowman, or a thief.
- The requirements and the places for the job advancement differ from job to job. In MapleStory, 4 job advancements are available for your character.
Warrior Class:
- Warriors rely on physical, melee attacks, which means that most attacks will be at close range.
- This means that strength and dexterity are crucial, and that int and luck are not needed.
- It's best to keep int and luck at 4, whilst placing most of your points into str and dex.
- Warriors are fairly slow, however, and their attack forces them to have to get into close range.
Magician Class:
- Magicians use elemental spells to damage enemies.
- Magicians use semi-ranged attacks to engage enemies.
- Intel and luck are needed for magicans, with luck as a secondary priority.
- Magicians, however, are extremely vulnerable when in direct combat.
Bowman Class:
- Bowmen use evasion and range to take on monsters, and have the highest accuracy in the game.
- They have the joint-longest range in the game, being able to eliminate enemies well before they get close.
- They can also engage in (but are not recommended to) close range fighting with skills such as power knockback and mortal blow.
- Having specialised ranged skills for bow and crossbow means that hunters and corssbowmen respectively have a very straightforward path to follow when placing skill points.
- As said above, although they have a few close range skills, they are weak at close range, and the skills are often used as a last resort.
Thief Class:
- Thieves rely on evasion, speed, and maneuverability to beat enemies.
- There are 2 classes of thieves, bandits, and assassins. Bandits use melee range daggers, and assassins use ranged claws in conjunction with throwing stars.
- Bandits do not have the power of warriors, and assassins, although powerful, are extremely expensive to upkeep, especially throwing stars.
